I figured it was about time to start one of these blogs where I keep track of my training and bitch about random things along my now Ironman Journey.
My race season so far hasn't been to great. Lake Anna was a flooded mess, and I injured my knee at Columbia, forcing me into yet another knee surgery. Back in the saddle and trying to gear up for Diamond in the Rough though. I'm excited... Mama Mauldin is comin out for the race, and will get to see the hot mess that is Team Z. Should be good times. Hopefully my race proves to be good times as well.
Looking into the future a bit, my long term goals include Ironman Lake Placid. Since I'll be investing thousands of dollars and countless hours training, I've decided I'm not just going to finish, I'm going to compete. I've been complacent with merely completing triathlons for 3 years now. Might as well pick a big one for my all time "A" race. I've been researching Placid finish times over the past 3 years... looks like I just need to break 11:30 for my finish time (Not hard for 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking, and then a marathon... right?).. I'm looking forward to the challenge.
All for now. More updates as the week moves on. Just wanted to get the ball rolling on this.
